The SDA HOUSING Podcast
"The SDA HOUSING Podcast" is brought to you by the team at NDIS PROPERTY AUSTRALIA. Whether you are listening as an Investor, Provider, Builder, Developer or Participant, we cover a wide range of topics informative to any audience. We discuss how we work with all stakeholders in sourcing and delivering new dwellings which are SDA compliant, to general information about the NDIS, and statistics about Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) in the NDIS sector. We regularly have guest speakers each week from other organisations to talk about their involvement in the SDA sector, and how they contribute to the social impact of SDA, building homes that are fit-for-purpose, while giving NDIS participants the "Choice and Control" over how, where and with whom they live. As we are learning and adapting to an evolving world of SDA in the NDIS sector, we want you, our listeners, to come on the journey with us so that you too can contribute and make a social impact for People With Disabilities (PWDs). If you would like to share your SDA journey with us, we welcome you to contact us to tell your story. Please feel free to call us on 1300 254 397 to talk to one of our friendly staff, or email us - podcast@ndis.property. EPISODE 123 - Onboarding Airbnbs' for Respite Accommodation (STA)
Respite Accommodation (STA) is considered as temporary and short-term options for NDIS participants, providing respite and a chance to experience different environments. These options can vary in location, accommodation type, and support level, and can be funded by NDIS plans if reasonable and necessary.
We get so many property investors from around Australia who call our office and want to find out about how they can contribute their property into the respite sector for NDIS participants.
In this episode, Minh and Debbie sit down together to talk about how they are working with Airbnb property owners who want to contribute to the NDIS community by sharing or leasing their properties out as Respite Accommodation, on a short-term basis, to give participants the opportunity for a 'stay-cation' away from home, in order to give their regular informal carers a break, as well as to enable capacity building and new experiences for the participants.
Debbie explains in great detail the onboarding process that our team goes about in getting such properties to be 'market ready' for potential NDIS participant respite enquiries, which may come directly from participants and their families, or otherwise from third-party 'care providers' who want to add value to their participants' needs by tapping into a ready resource like that what we offer.
If you own a property that is in the short-term Airbnb sector and would like to be involved, please feel free to reach out to us on 1300488982 to speak to Maddie or Courtney about how we can help you as a landlord to get into the respite accommodation sector, no matter where you are around Australia.

NDIS PROPERTY AUSTRALIA:
Our team conducts thorough research on Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) and provides appropriate technical advice through premium and strategy-based solutions. We also use complex feasibility calculation spreadsheets to help investors understand the expected annual income of an SDA dwelling, the timeline stages of construction of their property, as well as revealing the hidden costs. By staying up-to-date with the latest SDA data and pricing payments information, we help clients make better-informed decisions and achieve their investment goals.
