EPISODE 207 - PREFERRED HOMES: Ben Burns
Feb 06, 2024

In this episode, we have Ben Burns , the Co-Director from Preferred Homes, based from Gold Coast, but operating primarily in middle ring suburbs around Brisbane & Gold Coast.

Ben was invited into our office to talk to our  staff about their  bespoke approach to building custom SDA homes for the disability market, and their approach is second to none. Whilst also visiting us, he also sat down with Minh and did an interview for the podcast show too.

Ben talks about their company's humble beginnings 3 years ago, and how they have turned away so much business because the investors requirements do not align with their business values, in this SDA space. He talks about their special relationships with certain Providers on the ground, who come to their brand to build their own homes that they as Providers also want built within their portfolio. Ben talks about their target of infill areas around South East QLD, and how they will be working towards double storey SDA homes aswell into the future. It is very clear from the interview that their company will not build SDAs in the outer masterplanned communities away from infrastructure and amenities, and that they are very much outcome focused when it comes to the end product for SDA Participants.

Points of Difference:

  • SDA knock down rebuilds
  • Design & Construct
  • SDA Participant 'Owner Occupiers'
  • Participant Led builds, owned by Providers
  • Double Storey SDA homes with lifts
  • Infill blocks & not new estates

We commend their approach, and wish there were more SDA builders like the team at Preferred Homes. Congratulations for all the hard word that you do!  #Thanks #Ben

PREFERRED HOMES:
"While Preferred Homes is one of the industry leaders in creating custom homes, our expertise extends beyond standard dwellings. We design and create inviting and functional homes for those who have specific needs and requirements, due to a disability. An SDA home by Preferred Homes is not simply providing a solution for the community, it is a beautifully designed home that will become the envy of the street"
